Rasulullah menggambarkan seandainya seorang suami memerintahkan suatu pekerjaan berupa memindahkan bukit merah ke bukit putih atau sebaliknya, maka tiada pilihan bagi istrinya selain melaksanakan perintah suaminya.
2. Menentang Perintah SuamiDi dalam rumah tangga, perintah yang harus dilaksanakan istri merupakan perintah suami. Begitu juga larangan yang harus dilaksanakan istri merupakan larangan suaminya. Sabda Rasulullah:
”Tidaklah seorang perempuan menunaikan hak Tuhannya sehingga dia menunaikan hak suaminya”.
Hadits itu tidak serta merta menempatkan kedudukan suami sederajat dengan Tuhan, tetapi hanya menerangkan bahwa jika hak suami untuk ditaati istrinya yang sesuai dengan ketentuan Allah itu dilanggar oleh istrinya, ini berarti sama dengan istri melanggar perintah Allah SWT.
3. Enggan Memenuhi Kebutuhan Biologis SuamiPerkawinan telah diatur oleh syari’at Islam untuk memberikan jalan yang halal bagi suami dan istri untuk melakukan hubungan biologis atau penyaluran dorongan biologis.
Dengan cara itulah manusia dapat melakukan regenerasi keturunan dengan cara yang diridlai oleh Allah SWT.
Karena itu, Islam menegaskan bahwasanya istri yang menolak ajakan suaminya berarti membuka pintu laknat pada dirinya.
4. Tidak Mau menemani Suami TidurDari Abu Hurairah ra, Rasulullah Saw. bersabda: ”… bila seorang istri semalaman tidur terpisah dari ranjang suaminya, maka malaikat melaknatnya sampai Shubuh.”
Bila istri ingin tidur sendiri, sedang suaminya saat itu berada di rumah pada malam harinya, maka dia harus meminta ijin terlebih dahulu pada suaminya.
5. Memberatkan Beban Belanja SuamiAllah SWT telah menegaskan bahwa setiap suami bertanggung jawab memberi nafkah istrinya sesuai dengan kemampuan.
Istri yang menyadari bahwa suaminya kurang mampu tidak dibenarkan menuntut belanja dari suaminya hanya mempertimbangkan kebutuhannya sendiri sehingga memberatkan suaminya.
6. Tidak Mau Bersolek Untuk SuaminyaPara istri diperintahkan untuk berkhidmat pada suaminya, termasuk mengurus dirinya sendiri dengan berhias dan berdandan dengan tujuan untuk dapat menyenangkan hati suaminya dan menimbulkan gairah dalam hidup bersama dirinya.
7. Merusak Kehidupan Agama SuamiIstri diperintahkan untuk membantu suaminya dalam menegakkan kehidupan beragama, sedangkan suami diperintahkan untuk membimbing istri menjalankan agamanya dengan baik.
Karena itu, kalau istri tidak mau membatu suami menjalankan dan menegakkan agama, apalagi merusak iman dan akhlak agama suami, sudah tentu dia menjerumuskan suaminya ke dalam neraka.
8. Mengenyampingkan Kepentingan SuamiDari Aisyah RA, ujarnya: saya bertanya kepada Rasulullah SAW.: ” Siapakah orang yang mempunyai hak paling besar pada seorang wanita?”
Sabdanya: ”Suaminya”.
Saya bertanya: ”Siapakah orang yang paling besar haknya pada seorang lelaki.”
Jawabnya: “Ibunya”.
Jelaslah Hadits di atas bahwa kepentingan suami harus lebih didahulukan oleh seorang istri daripada kepentingan ibu kandungnya sendiri.
9. Keluar Rumah Tanpa Izin SuamiIstri ditetapkan oleh Islam menjadi wakil suami dalam mengurus rumah tangga. Karena itu bilamana dia keluar meninggalkan rumah, maka dengan sendirinya dia harus lebih dulu mendapatkan izin suaminya.
Bila dia tidak minta izin dan keluar rumah dengan kemauannya sendiri, maka dia telah melanggar kewajibannya pada suami, sedangkan melanggar kewajiban berarti durhaka pada suaminya.
10. Melarikan Diri Dari Rumah SuamiRasulullah saw bersabda: “Dua golongan yang sholatnya tidak memiliki manfaat bagi dirinya yaitu hamba yang melarikan diri dari rumah tuannya sampai dia pulang; dan istri yang melarikan diri dari rumah suaminya sampai dia kembali.”
11. Menerima Tamu Laki-laki yang Tidak Disukai SuamiDalam sebuah Hadits, Rasulullah telah menegaskan bahwa seorang istri diwajibkan memenuhi hak-hak suaminya. Diantaranya yaitu:
  • Tidak mempersilakan siapapun yang tidak disenangi suaminya untuk menjamah tempat tidurnya
  • Tidak mengizinkan tamu masuk bila yang bersangkutan tidak disukai oleh suaminya.
12. Tidak Menolak Jamahan Lelaki Lain
فَالصَّالِحَاتُ قَانِتَاتٌ حَافِظَاتٌ لِّلْغَيْبِ بِمَا حَفِظَ اللَّهُ
“… perempuan-perempuan yang shalih adalah mereka yang taat (kepada Allah) dan menjaga diri ketika (suaminya) tidak ada, karena Allah telah menjaga (mereka) …” (QS. an-Nisaa’ [4] : 34)
Rasulullah menjelaskan bahwa seorang istri yang membiarkan dirinya dijamah lelaki lain boleh diceraikan. Hal itu menunjukan bahwa perbuatan istri itu merupakan durhaka pada suaminya.
13. Tidak Mau merawat Ketika Suami SakitBila seorang istri menolak merawat suami yang sakit dengan alasan sibuk kerja atau tidak ada waktu sebab merawat anak, maka dia telah melakukan tindakan yang tidak benar.
14. Puasa Sunnah Tanpa Izin Saat Suami di RumahDari Abu Harairah, bahwa Rasulullah SAW. bersabda: ”Seorang istri tidak halal berpuasa ketika suami ada di rumah tanpa izinnya.”
15. Menceritakan Seluk Beluk Fisik Wanita Lain Kepada SuamiDari Ibnu Mas’ud, ujarnya : Rasulullah saw. bersabda: “Seorang wanita tidak boleh bergaul dengan wanita lain, lalu menceritakan kepada suaminya keadaan wanita itu, sehingga suaminya seolah-olah melihat keadaan wanita itu.”
16. Menolak Kedatangan Suami Bergilir KepadanyaSeorang istri yang dimadu, tetap mempunyai kewajiban untuk mentaati perintahnya, menyenangkan hatinya, berbhakti dan selalu berperilaku baik kepada suaminya ketika dia datang bergilir.
17. Mentaati Perintah Orang Lain Di Rumah SuaminyaDiriwayatkan dalam sebuah Hadits : Dari Mu’adz bin Jabal, dari Nabi saw., sabdanya:
“Tidak halal seorang istri yang beriman kepada Allah mengizinkan seseorang berada di rumahnya, padahal suaminya tidak merelakannya. Juga ia tidak boleh keluar rumah bila suami tidak mengizinkannya; tidak boleh mentaati seseorang, (selain suaminya di rumah suaminya); tidak boleh meninggalkan tempat tidurnya; dan tidak boleh memukulnya …” (HR. Hakim)
Dalam sebuah rumah tangga, kekuasaan terletak pada suami, sekalipun di rumah itu ada ibu bapak suami atau anak kandungnya.
Anak-anak tidak punya kekuasaan dalam rumah tangga ibu bapaknya, apalagi mertua suami. Contoh, misalnya di rumah Anda turut serta ibu dan ayah mertua Anda.
Sebagai istri, Anda tak boleh mengerjakan perintah-perintah mereka tanpa seizin suami Anda, karena komando tunggal yang berhak memerintah Anda (sebagai istri) hanyalah suami.
Karena orang lain tidak punya hak memerintah Anda, maka jika Anda melayani perintahnya tanpa persetujuan suami, berarti istri tersebut telah berbuat salah dan berdosa.
Mengapa mematuhi perintah orang lain di rumah suami dikategorikan perbuatan dosa? Karena di rumah suami hanya ada satu orang saja yang boleh istri patuhi perintahnya, yaitu suaminya.
Karena itu, jika suatu saat di rumah Anda tinggal ibu dan ayah Anda, lalu mereka menyuruh Anda menyetrika baju mereka dan saat itu suami Anda ada di rumah, maka sebagai seorang istri wajib minta izin kepada suaminya suami untuk mengerjakan-nya.
Jika suami Anda tidak mengizinkan, maka Anda tidak boleh mengerjakan perintah ibu ayah Anda itu.
Lalu bagaimana kalau pada saat yang sama anak minta dibuatkan roti dan suami minta dicucikan bajunya? Seorang istri wajib memenuhi permintaan suami nya, sedang permintaan anak tidak wajib untuk dipenuhi.
Jika Anda ternyata mendahulukan kepentingan anak, yaitu membuatkan susu dan menomerduakan suami, maka Anda telah durhaka kepada suami Anda.
Karena itu, jika Anda hendak mendahulukan membuatkan susu anak, mintalah persetujuan suami Anda dulu.
Kalau ia tidak mengizinkan, maka Anda berkewajiban mendahulukan kepentingan suami daripada kepentingan anak. Mungkin sekali banyak orang akan berkata: ”Bukankah melayani suami itu sudah rutin, apakah suami masih harus selalu dan terus diutamakan segalanya daripada orang lain, sekalipun itu anak dan orang tuanya sendiri?”
Jawabannya: “Ya.”
Sebagai istri, kiblat ketaatan Anda hanya kepada suami tercinta, yaitu orang yang pertama dan utama Anda khidmati setelah Anda tunaikan kewajiban-kewajiban Anda kepada Allah.
Jadi, bagi seorang istri yang shalihah, suami adalah pimpinan pertamanya, tempat baktinya yang utama dan kiblat kepatuhan hidupnya sampai saat yang ditetapkan oleh Allah.
Karenanya, perlu sekali setiap istri menyadari bahwa di bawah atap rumah suaminya, hanya ada satu komandan, yaitu suaminya. Orang lain, siapa pun dia, tidak boleh dipatuhi perintahnya bila suaminya tidak mengizinkannya.
18. Menyuruh Suami Menceraikan MadunyaRasulullah saw melarang seorang isteri yang menyuruh suaminya menceraikan madunya. Beliau saw bersabda:
“Seorang isteri tidak boleh meminta (suami) menceraikan saudaranya (madunya) agar ia dapat menguasai piringnya, tetapi hendaklah ia membiarkan tetap dalam pernikahannya karena sesungguhnya bagi dirinya bagian yang telah ditetapkan” (HR Ibn Hibban dari Abu Hurairah RA)
19. Minta Cerai Tanpa Alasan yang SahRasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam melarang seorang istri melakukan gugat cerai tanpa alasan yang dibenarkan.
Artinya, jika hal itu dilakukan karena alasan yang benar, syariat tidak melarangnya, bahkan dalam kondisi tertentu, seorang wanita wajib berpisah dari suaminya.
Apa saja yang membolehkan para istri untuk melakukan gugat cerai? Imam Ibnu Qudamah telah menyebutkan kaidah dalam hal ini. Beliau mengatakan,
“Kesimpulan masalah ini, bahwa seorang wanita, jika membenci suaminya karena akhlaknya atau karena fisiknya atau karena agamanya, atau karena usianya yang sudah tua, atau karena dia lemah, atau alasan yang semisalnya, sementara dia khawatir tidak bisa menunaikan hak Allah dalam mentaati sang suami, maka boleh baginya untuk meminta khulu’ (gugat cerai) kepada suaminya dengan memberikan biaya/ganti untuk melepaskan dirinya.” (al-Mughni, 7:323).
20. Mengambil Harta Suami Tanpa IzinnyaDalam sebuah Riwayat disebutkan bahwa Hindun binti Utbah ra, isteri Abu Sofyan bertanya, “Wahai Rasulullah, Abu Sofyan orang yang bakhil. Dia tidak memberikan nafkah yang cukup untuk diriku dan anakku kecuali yang kuambil dari hartanya tanpa sepengetahuannya.
Apakah tindakanku itu tergolong dosa?” Nabi saw menjawab, “Ambillah dari hartanya sekadar yang mencukupi nafkah untukmu dan untuk anakmu dengan cara baik.”
Hadits di atas menjadi dalil bolehnya mengambil harta suami tanpa ijinnya saat suami tidak memberikan nafkah wajib untuk isteri dan anak.
Namun di luar nafkah wajib itu maka tidak diperkenankan untuk mengambil tanpa ijinnya. Karena itu tidak dibenarkan mengambil uang suami tanpa ijinnya jika bukan untuk kebutuhan primer dan bukan untuk kebutuhan orang-orang yang menjadi tanggungan suami.
